We’ve been running a kit scale duration event at most OMFC competitions for a year or two, and we’ve tried to make the model eligibility as broad as possible so that the maximum number of people can enter.
The 2026 Classic Winter Kit Scale Postal is a return to a very simple format – just fly your eligible model and record your 3 competition flights. Models can be flown Indoors or Outdoors. There is a 10 sec ROG bonus available if flying Indoors. All the flights should be made on the same day over the Winter/early Spring period between 1st January 2026 and 30th April 2026.
There are no complicated bonuses to apply just record 3 flight times , the name of the model and kit along with a photo of the model and send them to Chris at webmaster@oxfordmfc.bmfa.uk
The competition is open to all Trinity and Berinsfield Flyers as well as, new for this year it is open to the international community on HPA https://hpa.aeromodelling.gr/
1st prize is a VMC Fokker DVIII donated by the Vintage Model Company

Flying will be a total of three flights (TOTF) and may be flown indoors or outdoors. Unlimited attempts are allowed, an attempt is any flight under 10s
Chris will then calculate the bonuses and will put the latest scores up on the website. Prizes (Tunnock’s comestibles of various types) will be handed out in early May.
Since we’re flying over the winter period, we’ve taken the unusual step of allowing competition flights to be made indoors; this means that our friends and OMFC members who fly at Trinity and Berinsfield can also take part, and we’re hoping that this might engender a little friendly rivalry. However, if and when the weather improves in the Spring there’s nothing to stop people re-trimming an indoor model at their local recreation ground and recording some outdoor times as well – you never know, you might get lucky with a thermal…
